Motherland MINNEAPOLIS / OSLO 7.08 - 16.11.25.

The Motherland has now arrived at 9 Mile Gallery, honoring 200 years of Norwegian immigration to America through the power of contemporary art.
Featuring five acclaimed artists from Norway alongside their American counterparts, the exhibition explores themes of heritage, identity, and belonging—illuminating the stories of migration that continue to shape who we are today.
Through painting, sculpture, photography, and mixed media, Motherland bridges two nations, creating space for reflection, dialogue, and shared celebration.
A collaboration with Norway House, 9mile Gallery and Galleri Semmingsen.
The Norwegian artists represented are Christer Karlstad, Anne Ingeborg Biringvad, Fredrik K.B, Hanne-May Scheen and Geir Harald Samuelsen. Themes such as origins, culture and nature resonate deeply with the Norwegian artists.
